Since
the age of thirteen I had this fascination with martial arts. In 1997
I decided to follow my dreams and to finally learn a martial art.
The big decision was which martial art to choose. I began my quest
by visiting several dojos and martial arts schools across the greater
Montreal area. After visiting and investigating all the various martial
arts available to me, I was truly convinced Kyokushinkai was the most
complete martial art that would compliment my way of life and well
being. |

| On
my journey, I noticed Montreal had several Kyokushinkai schools. At
the time, I think I had visited the majority of them right across
Montreal. Finally, one day I was asked by an old boxing friend of
mine to visit The Ohan Brothers Dojo. I remember walking into The
Aero Gym on Langelier Street back in 1997 and being introduced to
sensei George and sensei Dominic Ohan. They cordially invited me to
attend one of their classes, something the other schools had not offered.
Most of the other schools I visited only let me sit and watch but
not to participate. From that first class I was convinced this was
the place for me. Both senseis George and Dominic displayed such a
passion for their art and for the tradition of Kyokushinkai which
truly surprised and inspired me. After finishing that first class
tired and exhausted from the training, I vividly remember asking Sensei
George that I would be one of their first black belts. From that day
forward I became their uchi deshi, training vigorously four and sometimes
five times a week. |

Today
I am proud to be The Ohan Brother's first black belt student. I am
the head instructor for The Ohan Brothers Dojo. I also teach Kyokushinkai
to children in four different educational facilities and have since
opened two dojos through the tutelage of The Ohan brothers.
Kyokushinkai is definitely a fully rounded martial art I would recommend
not only to the younger eager students but also to their parents and
grand parents. Age is not a factor when learning Kyokushinkai, but
spirit and passion are. |
